Sound Transit is currently seeking input from community members on the proposed 2021 Service Plan.

Every fall, Sound Transit publishes the upcoming year's draft service plan describing the major changes being proposed for the upcoming year. This process includes collecting public feedback to help guide planners in making any necessary adjustments.

Here is a short description of proposed changes:

Sound Transit is continuing to adjust service levels to meet demand during the region's ongoing response to COVID-19.

  • In September 2020, service will modestly increase, with improvements to Link, Sounder and some ST Express routes.
  • Based on future rider demand and COVID-19 financial impacts, Sound Transit may further increase or decrease their service after September 2020.

Looking ahead to next year, Sound Transit is also seeking public input on their 2021 Service Plan, specifically:

  • How the COVID-19 service changes have affected passengers.
  • Whether the current system design is meeting you need.
  • The proposed change to some ST Express routes to connect with new Link service to the U District, Roosevelt and Northgate, planned to open in September 2021.

Sound Transit is currently collecting public feedback on their 2021 draft plan. Comments will be collected from September 4th through September 25th.

The public can comment via:

  • A survey posted online at www.soundtransit.org/sip. The survey is also available in Spanish, traditional Chineses, simplified Chinese, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Russian and Korean.
  • Call 800-201-4900 / TTY Relay: 711 to take the survey via phone.
  • Attend a virtual public hearing at 11 am on September 24th and provide a public comment.
