A MESSAGE ABOUT NEW INTERNET SERVICES AVAILABLE THROUGH COMCAST:

INTERNET ESSENTIAL SPEED INCREASE

For the sixth time in 10 years, Comcast in increasing the speed of the Internet Essentials service, to 50 Mbps downstream and 5 Mbps upstream, again without changing the price, $9.95/month, which is the same as it has been since 2011. With these speeds, families will have even more bandwidth for distance learning and remote work, as well as accessing healthcare information, enjoying online entertainment, and staying in touch with family and friends during the pandemic and beyond. This change is on top of dozens of other enhancements we have made to the program over the years, including offering our innovative xFI WiFi network management tool, which includes our free xFi Advanced Security service; full access to our network of Xfinity WiFi hotspots, forgiving back-due debt; and more.

The new speeds begin rolling out to customers statewide on March 1 and will be added to their accounts automatically.

Internet Essentials is the largest and most comprehensive low-cost internet adoption program in America and has been used by more than 85,000 households across Washington State. These speeds support multiple concurrent video-conferencing sessions and enable family members with multiple kids to learn and work from home. Comcast Internet Essentials is supporting families across 89 school districts in the state, through the WA K-12 Internet Access program, provided by Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI). To date, the company and OSPI have offered service to more than 55,000 households during the pandemic through this partnership.

Internet Essentials is available in all Comcast service areas in Washington. Visit internetessentials.com for more information to sign up.

Families with students wanting to sign up for the program via the state OSPI can learn more by visiting the state office's official site (CLICK HERE). Internet Essentials is open to any family receiving some form of government assistance, including a dozen different programs, like Free or Reduced School Lunch, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefit, Tribal Programs, and many others.
